Franklin Cooper

Visitation will be 9:00-11:00am, Monday, April 10, 2017, at Star Baptist Church, with service to follow at 11:00am. Interment will be in the Star Cemetery.

He was born April 21, 1932, a son of the late Nolan and Nadine Graves Cooper. He married Claudine Byrd Cooper on June 18, 1950. He was a lifelong resident of Star, and faithful member of Star Baptist Church. He worked for many years as a registered land surveyor for Reynolds Engineering/Lang and Associates in Jackson. He loved spending time with his family, mowing the yard, working word puzzles and Sudoku.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Claudine Cooper of Star; son, Dennis Cooper (Vie) of Star; grandsons, Henry Cooper (Julyn) of Star, Chris Cooper (Amanda) of Hattiesburg, and Michael Cooper (Pam) of Harrisville; great-grandchildren, Mallory and Seth Cooper of Star, Rickey and Zach Cooper of Harrisville, and Kara Cooper of Hattiesburg; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Frankie Cooper, and brother, Eugene Cooper.
