Gene was born on September 29, 1934 in Phoenix, MS to Crawford and Cornelia Gertrude Lee Bryant. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church of Jackson. Gene owned and operated Bryant’s Machine Shop. He enjoyed hunting and making hand-crafted lamps and candleholders made from insulators. Gene also loved his work, as well as providing for his family.
Gene is survived by his wife, Laverne Bryant; children, Ricky Gene Bryant (Elida), Delores Keen (Ralph), and Cynthia McJordan; grandchildren, Jeremy Keen and Austin McJordan; sisters, Ruby Gibson Bahm (Jack) and Myrtlene Watford; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Gene will be held Friday, March 30, 2018 from 9:00 to 11:00 am at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl, with a funeral service following at 11:00 am. Interment will be in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS.
