

Visitation will be 5:00-8:00pm, Friday, April 24, 2015 and 12:00-1:00pm, Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday in the funeral home chapel with interment in the New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Braxton.
She was born Tuesday, April 22, 1919 in Braxton, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Andrew Edwin Jobe and Fannie Mae Shorter Jobe.
Mrs. Thornton was a retired telephone operator having worked for South Central Bell, St. Dominic Hospital and Capital Commission of the State of MS. She was a member of First Baptist church of Richland, Plainview Chapter No. 357 O.E.S. and the local AARP#3444 where she was Past President.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Thornton.
Survivors include daughters, Sharron Heilig and husband Charles and Lynn Seaney and husband James; grandchildren, Aubrey Pridgen, Suzanne Mathis, Tim Seaney and James Seaney, Jr.; 11 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
