The family will hold a private service.
She was born on December 26, 1927 to the late Vayon V. Shows and Winnie Bynum Shows in Simpson County, Mississippi. A member at First Baptist Church of Brandon, Trudy retired from General Cable Company in Brandon after working as a supervisor for several years. Mostly, she was happiest serving as a caretaker, whether for her beloved son or nursing her friends that had undergone operations like open heart surgery. In her free time, Trudy loved to dance. Cutting a rug at the Brandon Senior Center, she would amaze people with her energetic performances to classics like "Wipe Out". Young at heart, her age couldn't slow her down, and it never failed that her talent would have a crowd watching in awe. Trudy was also known to be frugal, mainly because it meant that there was more that could be given to others; she had the kindest heart and would spend her last dollar on someone else. Her family will so dearly miss her sweet spirit as well as her delicious chicken and dumplings.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Wells and her son, Marland Thomas Wells.
Trudy is survived by her daughter, Winnie Wells Goodwin; stepchildren, Tyrone Wells and Judy Repsher; granddaughter, Amanda Graham; her first great-grandchild, Justin Graham, with many to follow, including numerous great-great-grandchildren; as well as several other adored family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that everyone follow the advice she always gave whenever anyone tried to give her something, "Go treat yourself to something you need."
