Hiram Perry Harrison, known as Perry by all of his friends, was the youngest child of Benjamin Charlie Harrison and Betty Lenora Crocker. Perry was born July 17, 1952 in the Newton County Hospital in Newton, Mississippi. His family moved to Jackson, Mississippi from Chunky when he was a teenager. He was 20 years old when his mother passed away.
Perry finished high school at Byram and then immediately started to work for his father in the Harrison & Sons House Moving business. He worked for Choctaw Concrete for 20 years before going to work for Kroger in Byram where he retired.
He has been an active member of Lakeshore Church in Byram, Mississippi, since July 14, 2010, even though he attended a while before joining. He loved participating in the Live Nativity Drive Through Program and participated in that each year that it was held. He was a big part of his Sunday School Class. He was involved in several ministries in the church including, Men in Action (MIA) and Cursillo, a discipleship ministry.
He is survived by his only living sibling Shirley Marlene Benson who was 14 years older than Perry, one sister-in-law, Sinnie Harrison, companion, Stacye Watts, and his son, Aaron S. Harrison (10/2/1983), and stepson, Ben White (09/10/1982) and grandkids, Connor White (21) and Mason White (20), and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Lakeshore Congregational Methodist Church in Byram.
The family will receive friends from 12:00pm until 2:00pm, with funeral services to follow at 2:00pm. Perry will be laid to rest beside his parents in the Lakewood Memorial Park at 6000 Clinton Blvd. in Jackson, Mississippi.
He is preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Charlie Harrison (Ben), mother -Betty Lenora Crocker, brothers, Charlie Lee Harrison, Frank Allen Harrison, and one sister Dorothy Jane McKee Bough.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Lakeshore Congregational Methodist Church in Byram.
