

Mrs. Imogene Temple Riley, 94, formerly of Jackson, passed from this life on May 22, 2012 at Crossgates River Oaks Hospital in Brandon. Visitation will be today from 5 – 7pm at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Visitation will also be Friday, May 25, 2012 at 1:30pm at Park Place Baptist Church, Pearl followed by a memorial service at 2:30pm. Services will be officiated by Dr. Keith Grubbs and Rev. Chad Hunsberger. Pallbearers are Lee Thomas, Paul and David Albritton, Kyle Temple, Harlon Mahaffey, and Mark Yates. Interment will be at Lakewood Memorial Park, Jackson.
Imogene was born May 20, 1918 in Lauderdale County to the late George Lavelle and Ethel Mae Temple. She was a homemaker most of her life, but in her early years she worked as a secretary for the Hinds County School System at Van Winkle Elementary.
Mrs. Riley was an active member of Park Place Baptist Church and in the Joy Sunday School Class. Gardening and raising flowers were her favorite hobbies along with decorating her beloved church for different activities and fellowships.
She was a Charter member and former Worthy Matron of the Forest Hill Chapter of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Zeno G. Riley; sister, Grace Helms Pace of Tallahassee, Fl; brothers, Dewayne and George Temple of Meridian and Glynn Temple of Jonesboro, Ga.
Mrs. Riley is survived by her sisters, Merle Albritton of Brandon; Walterine Wilson (Pete) of Jackson, Tn; and many nieces and nephews who mourn the loss of their favorite “Auntie”.
