

Jacob served his country in Iraq with Company E 1/185 Assault Helicopter Battalion, Operation New Dawn, where he was a Door Gunner on a Blackhawk helicopter. Jacob was awarded the Air Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon and The Armed Forces Reserve Medal.
Jacob was employed at the USPFO on Military Drive, Flowood. He was an avid Mississippi State fan and golfer.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edward Campbell, Jr., Horace “Don” Burks, Sr. and Ercel Carter Burks.
Jacob leaves behind his 7 year old son, Landyn, who considered his dad his hero; his loving fiancé, Shelbye Fountain, who he loved with all of his heart; his parents, Melissa and Freddy Dearman and Kenny and Sandy Campbell; sisters, Maegan Johnson (Brian) and Amy Amman (Corbin); brother, Joey Dearman (Stacy); grandmothers, Bessie Lou Campbell and Marie Dearman; nieces, Alexis Johnson, Karlee Johnson, Lillie Amman and Celeste Amman; nephews, Hayden Johnson, Braedon Dearman, Gunnar Dearman, Brandon Peacock and Justin Peacock, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held 1:00-5:00pm, Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are 11:00am, Monday, January 26, 2015 in the funeral home chapel with interment in Crestview Memorial Gardens, Brandon.
The family would like to thank all of the staff who took care of Jacob on 5D, Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. They truly became our family.
