James Allen Carr

Visitation will be held 5:00-8:00pm, Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are 2:00pm, Sunday, October 27, 2013 at McLaurin Heights United Methodist Church in Pearl with interment to follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.

Born Monday, May 28, 1934 in Pineville, MS to John Allen Carr and Marie Dennis Carr, James was a graduate of Pineville High School, Jones Junior College and Mississippi State University with a BS in Civil Engineering. He was employed with the Mississippi Department of Transportation for 42 years in the Bridge Division and Construction Division.

He was a charter member of McLaurin Heights United Methodist Church and served in many positions in the church. An avid outdoorsman, James loved hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Waudeena Carr; two sons, Mitch Carr (Donna) and Keith Carr (Patty); grandchildren, Jon Carr (Sarah), Matt Carr (Kayla), Lacey Carr, Megan Carr and Alyssa Carr; great-grandchild, Emma Carr; siblings, Billie Jean Goodson, Mary Carr, Barbara Hathorn, Frances Baldwin (Jerry) and Gerald Carr (Jane); and numerous nieces and nephews.
