James Noble Johnston, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, left his earthly home on Oct 27, 2022, at the age of 89. Born February 1933, in Yazoo County, MS. Preceded in death by parents, James Luther and Zuma Parkerson Johnston, and siblings, Joyce Guthrie, Sybil Creel, Alice Faye Johnston, Shelly Johnston, and a twin brother at birth.
After finishing Benton High School in 1950, Jim served in the United States Army Signal Corps in Korea during the Korean War. Jim was a Customer Engineer for IBM, servicing office equipment over the MS Delta and Jackson, MS area for over thirty years.
He is survived by his wife, Mae Johnston (of almost fifty-seven years); sons, Tim (Barbara) Johnston of FL, Philip (Jenny) Johnston of OK, and Paul (Jessica) Johnston of Brandon; grandchildren Brady (Morgan), Sam, MS. Julia, Jacob, Lily, Henry, and Emma Johnston; and great-grandchildren Liam and Lucas Johnston; brother, Colon Johnston (Brenda) of Clinton.
Visitation will be held from 5:00pm until 8:00pm, Monday, October 31, 2022, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home. Funeral services are 2:00pm, Tuesday, November 1, 2022, in the funeral home chapel with interment in Lakewood Memorial Park.
