She was born on October 29, 1929 in Macon, Georgia to the late Griffon David Hardin and Kittie Crawford Hardin. Julia was a dedicated homemaker who loved her family. Her kind heart led her to provide everything she could for her loved ones, from gentle words of strength to sewing doll clothes for her girls in their younger years. Julia's caring spirit meant she had a soft spot for animals as well, and she had many dear canine companions over the years. A longtime member of McLaurin Heights Baptist Church, Julia was also part of the Ruth Sunday School Class. In her free time, she enjoyed painting various scenes from nature, including landscapes, horses, and flowers. Julia's happiest moments, however, were definitely spent with her family. She treasured every opportunity to get together whether holidays or casual visits, though she especially looked forward to Christmas, Halloween, and birthdays.
In addition to her parents, preceding her in death is her cherished husband of 64 years, Charlie Ridge.
Julia is survived by her daughters, Jackie Boteler (Vernon) and Kay Monahan (Bobby); seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild, with another on the way.
The family would like to extend a special "thank you" to her dedicated caregivers, Patricia Brown, Ethel Cannon and Juanita Donaldson, as well as Heart of Hospice.
