On the morning of July 13, 2022, Katherine Blair died at the age of 99. She went to her heavenly home. Katherine was born to Ada Caroline and Marion Meredith Savell in 1923. She worked various jobs in Meridian until she moved to Jackson, Mississippi. She went to work at Mississippi Products where she met the love of her life, William Garland Blair. On September 4, 1948 they were married at Southside Baptist Church in Jackson. They had two daughters, Kathy and Garleen. Katherine was a very hard worker at home and at church. She was known for her kindness and love for others and her family. She enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. Katherine is preceded in death by her father Marion Meredith Cavell, her mother, Ada Caroline Savell, her husband, William Garland Blair, and her sisters, Imogene Stephens, Thula Boler, and Carmaline Knowles. She is survived by her two children, Kathy Cooper (Rick Cooper) and Garleen Ashley (Richard Ashley), her grandchildren, Jenoah Lee and Ryan Ashley, and her great-grandchildren, Noah Lee and Parker Lee. Visitation for family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl, Mississippi. The funeral service will be held at the chapel at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home on Sunday, July 17, 2022 with visitation from 1:00 p.m to 2:00 p.m. and funeral at 2:00 p.m.
