Katherine was born in Delta City, Mississippi on October 24, 1930 to James Clark Seale and Mary Ethyl Sibley Seale. She worked as a waitress for 30 years, including at the King Edward Hotel in Jackson. Being an excellent cook, she invented many recipes that won various cooking contests over the Southern states.
Katherine was a long-time member of Pearson Baptist Church in Pearl and was active in the Pearl Community Center until her debilitation in November 2016.
Katherine was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Ray "Maggie" McGee ; sisters, Lora Seale Lumbley, Ruby Kight, Claudine White; and brother Lois "Red" Seale. She is survived by one sister, Vivian Middleton of Vicksburg and daughters, Joan Pierce O'Neal and Glenda Pierce Talley (Larry), both of Brandon. She is also survived by step-grandchildren, Bret Talley (Stephanie) of Lewisville, Texas and Jodie Phifer (Jerry) of Jacksonville, Texas; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 9:30am until 10:00am on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. The funeral service will follow at 10:00am in the funeral home chapel. Burial will take place in Hickory, Mississippi in the Hickory Cemetery.
