Mark Alan Walker, 64, of Pearl, MS, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, November 15th, 2024 surrounded by family and friends. Mark was born on April 7th, 1960 in Jackson, Mississippi. He was the son of the late Bobby “Bob” Ray Walker Sr. and Alva “Jean” Singleton.
Mark graduated from Wingfield High School and then served his country in the United States Air Force from 1977 to 1980 as a Weapons Mechanic. After serving in the United States Air Force, Mark met his best friends of 30 years, James and Susan Bishop, and in 1983 married Cindy “Renee” Simon. In 1988, Mark and Renee had a daughter, Elaina Diane Walker. Mark always had a wonderful sense of humor. His hobbies included golfing and fishing, reading, carpentry, listening to music, cooking and grilling, spending quality time with his grandchildren, and watching the New England Patriots football team. Throughout his career, Mark was the Produce Manager at local grocery stores Jitney Jungle and Kroger. In 2001, Mark married his late wife, Lisa Marie Adams, and they were married for more than 20 years. Over the years he and Lisa adopted many dogs and cats, and they particularly loved visiting Orange Beach, Florida and capturing many sunsets together.
In addition to his parents, Mark was predeceased by his wife, Lisa Walker.
He is survived by his, daughter, Elaina Bergeron; brother, Bobby “Ray” Walker Jr.; sister, Sabrina Linn; nieces, Rebecca “Becky” Lane, Amy Keeton, and Destiny “DJ” Huddleston; step children, Ricky, Sarah and Jessie Adams; grandchildren, Preston and Keegan Bergeron; step grandchild, Zachery Rogers, Alexis “Pickles” Adams, and Abbiegale Adams; step great grandchildren, Julianna “Jules” and Lilly Berry, Travis and Able Henrys, and Nova and Ivyanna “Ivy” Adams; and pets, Chubby, Clara Bell, Nugget, Sarge, Peanut, Moon, and Izzy.
A special thank you to Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS and Merit Health River Region Hospital in Vicksburg, MS as they cared for Mark in his final days. Additional gratitude and appreciation go to Mark and Lisa’s neighbors, Rafael and Joey, for their support of Lisa and Mark in their final days.
In Lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Mississippi Animal Rescue Center and the American Cancer Society.
