Portia Vandiver

A graveside service for Portia Haines Ross Vandiver will be held at 1pm Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at the Corinth National Cemetery in Corinth MS. Portia passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017 in Port Gibson MS. She was born October 7, 1929, to W.A. and Mary Smith Ross.

She is survived by daughters: Jean Vandiver (Charles) Wasson and Sue Vandiver (Charles) Gammel, and son Mike (Dell) Vandiver; Grandchildren: Charlotte Gammel (Paul)Wojcik, Lisa Gammel (Cini) Baig, Charlie (Jamie) Gammel ; Emily Wasson(Jimmy) Bowland, Lauren Wasson (Jason) Mazzurco; Josh Vandiver, Jared (Leslie) Vandiver, Matthew Vandiver; Great-Grandchildren: Parker Ross Bowland, Ila Bowland, Marin Mazzurco, Sydney Mazzurco, Casey Wojcik, Harry Wojcik, Nickey Wojcik, Sophia Baig, Samuel Baig, Sana Baig, Kate Vandiver, and Allie Vandiver; sister, Melba Tanner; brother, Wilbur Ross; brother-in-law, Robert Vandiver; sisters-in-law, Lena Harmon and Linda Vandiver; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ed A. Vandiver in 1985; her parents Willie A. and Mary Smith Ross; brothers John Edward Ross, Raymond Ross, Howard Ross, William Thomas Ross.
