Raymond Gene Evans

Visitation will be 9:00-11:00am, Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at Immanuel Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am, with interment in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Raymond was born in Midnight, Mississippi, a son of the late William and Cleo Evelyn Evans. He retired in 1999 from Westinghouse/Cooper Industries after more than 33 years of service. Raymond was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and a faithful member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Billy, Kenneth and Van Evans, sister, Cleo Harrison, brother-in-law, Ronnie Harrison, and sister-in-law, Erma Evans.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Wandra Olivia Stewart Evans; children, Gene Evans (Lou Ann), Jeff Evans, and Dana Griffin; grandchildren, Olivia and Will Evans, and Alex Griffin; brothers Max and Leroy Evans; and many extended family members and special friends.

Memorials may be made to the Music and Library funds of Immanuel Baptist Church.
