She was born on January 2, 1940 in Raymond, Mississippi to the late Marvin Moss Lancaster and Annie Bell Martin Lancaster. Jane loved her family and her role as homemaker meant the world to her. In her free time, she enjoyed playing video games, baking, and watching her great grandchildren play.
In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Robert “Lamar” Smith. On the day she will be laid to rest, February 15, would have been their 64th wedding anniversary.
She is survived by her children, Lisa Faye Childers (Rod) of Mt. Pleasant, MS, Barry Wilson Smith (Lisa) of Birmingham, AL, and Omega Ann Hogan (Jeff) of Athens, GA. She has 5 grandchildren Kristen Childers Wilburn (Dustin), Tyler Childers (Blake), Chris Smith, Madelyn Hogan, and Ben Hogan. Her great grandchildren are Madison Wilburn Daugherty (Brandon), Avery Wilburn, Harper Kate Wilburn, Brett Hopper, and Finley Jane Childers.
