

William was born March 16, 1946, in Lebanon, New Hampshire, to the late Mr. Harvey Ross Leamond and Mrs. Mary Dell King.
William joined the US Army after graduating high school and was active for 12 years working his way up to Sergeant First Class. While in the service he received the National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Good Conduct Medal with 2 loops, Good Conduct Medal with 3 loops, and Rifle-Sharpshooter Medal.
On July 27,1979, he married the love of his life Ms. Jan Meaders. They were blessed with 4 children, 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
After he retired from the service owned and operated Bill’s Archery for over 28 years. He was a faithful member of Brandon Baptist Church in Brandon, Mississippi. He loved good jokes, raising his children and grandchildren, and serving others. He always put God first and was a humble person always willing to help and that is shown in his servant’s heart. In the springtime you could find him in his garden raising any type of vegetables. When they were ready to harvest, he would share with family and friends. As an avid hunter in the wintertime, you could find him in the woods hunting. When he was not gardening or hunting you could find him spending time with the people that meant most to him and that was his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter; Michele Leamond; and brother; Frank Arl Leamond.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Jan Leamond, daughters; Kimberly Courtney (Lee) and Amanda Leamond; son, Dwayne Leamond; eleven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and sister, Margo Donaldson (Lew).
The family will receive friends from 10:00am-11:00am on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Brandon Baptist Church in Brandon, Mississippi. A memorial service will follow in the church sanctuary at 11:00am. A graveside service will be on the same day at Michie Cemetery in Vaiden, Mississippi, at 2:00pm.
