Earl Joseph Reine, Sr, was born in New Orleans, LA, to the union of the late Milford Thomas Reine, II and Beulah Richardson Reine on June 14, 1936. Earl was a dedicated husband and family man, married to Katie Sylvia for sixty-two wonderful years. Earl and Katie were introduced by her brother Herman aka "Turk," a long-time friend of Earl's. They began dating and from there, the rest is history.
He was the oldest out of fifteen children and was like a father figure to his siblings as well as so many others along his journey. He was an avid fisherman, youth basketball coach, bowler, and a huge football fan. His teams were the New Orleans Saints as well as the Kansas City Chiefs. You could always catch him enjoying an old-fashioned Western show on television or reading the daily newspaper. He raised his family in Kansas City, Missouri, where he built a strong foundation of love, encouraged education, and embodied a resilient work ethic within his children which continued to impact his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He retired from The Pepsi Cola Bottling Group after 32 years and took immense pride in his work where he became one of the first Black Supervisors during that time.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by siblings, Shirley (James) Hathorn, Beulah (Seth) Dase, Earline (Louis) Keller, Rosemary Jones, Donald Reine, and Milford Reine III.
