Herbert Harris son of Lucinda Harris and Ed Norton born April 27, 1952 in Stampley, Mississippi transitioned from this earth on April 3, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and quiet strength. His life was marked by meaningful connections, genuine compassion, and a steady presence that brought comfort to family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Herb grew up in St. Louis, Missouri where he graduated from Soldan High School. He also attended Washington University.
Herb retired from Anheuser Busch in 2009 after 38 years of employment. He was a licensed realtor employed by Terry Hall Realtor.
Herb accepted Christ at early age joining Willing Workers Redeeming Spiritualist Church under the leadership of Pastor Arzell Robertson.
Throughout life, Herb found joy in the simple pleasures that brought happiness and connection. He loved traveling and seeing new places, spending time on the golf course or by the water fishing, and cooking meals to share with those he cared about. A longtime sports enthusiast, he enjoyed playing baseball and watching his favorite teams, often turning games into opportunities for laughter and togetherness. Herb deeply valued family, friendship, and community. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, offer words of encouragement, or simply be present when someone needed support. His life was a quiet example of integrity, generosity, and love in action.
Proceeding him in death were his parents, his brothers James Harris, C. L. Harris and sister Tina Harris.
Herb’s presence will be profoundly missed, but his spirit lives on in the hearts of his loving wife, Linda; his son, Jabari; his sister, Debra; his extended family; and the many friends and loved ones whose lives he touched. The memories shared, lessons given, and love shown will remain a lasting source of comfort and inspiration.
In keeping with Herb’s spirit, the family encourages simple acts of kindness in his memory, honoring a life well lived and a man who gave so much simply by being himself.
