Alice Jean Singleton

Born June 6, 1956 in Pekin to Albert “Pete” and Rosie (Kinsel) Smith, she married Gerald M. Singleton in the summer of 1971 in Pekin. He survives.

Also surviving are her mother of Pekin; two sons, Jeremiah L. (Michelle) Singleton of Sunnyland and Brian S. (April) Singleton of Delavan; one daughter, Amanda J. (Peter) Hackney of Washington; thirteen grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three brothers, John (Becky) Smith, Sam Smith and Mike Smith, all of Pekin and three sisters, Nancy Kaufman of Pekin, Christine Davis and Diane Magee, both of Mattoon.

She was preceded in death by her father; one son, Joey Allen Singleton on February 11, 1999 in Green Valley and one brother, James Smith.

Alice especially enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, sewing, blanket making and dress making. She also enjoyed watching movies and shopping.

She last had worked for Sonic.

Her visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, with a graveside service following at Green Valley Cemetery. Rev. Rusty Kaufman will officiate.
