Alice Margaret Curtis

Born August 2, 1923 in Lucas, Kentucky to Aubrey and Gladys (Greer) Harrison, she married Donald James Curtis on October 3, 1944 in Pekin.  He died August 10, 2003 in Morton.  She also was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Mary Miars and Charlotte Bybee.

Surviving are one daughter, Penny (Jim) Stapleton of Litchfield; one grandson, James L. Stapleton of Warrensburg; and one granddaughter, Carrie (Tony) Stapleton-Klytta of Glenview; and three great-grandchildren.

Alice worked at American Distillery for over 31 years as a table lady, retiring in 1979.  She also had worked for Midwest Grain Company for 3 years and a marketing Company for 8 years.

Alice loved flowers, plants, shopping and reading.

Her memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.  Rev. Steve Weber will officiate.  There will be no visitation.  Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
