Born December 11, 1943 in Peoria to Ralph M. and Janice E. (Armstrong) Armentrout, he married Helen Marie Guile on December 31, 1967 in Peoria. She died August 20, 2021 in Pekin. He was also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert and Edward Armentrout and three sisters, Loris and Mary Armentrout and Ina Baer.
Surviving are one daughter, Stephanie Armentrout of Peoria; four sons, Anthony Armentrout of Callahan, Florida, Aaron (Katie Higus) Armentrout of Marquette Heights and Matthew and Allan Armentrout, Jr., both of Pekin; five grandchildren, Kyra (Ben) Ketnick, Alyssa, Brock and Sophia Armentrout and Johnathon Higus and two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Asher Ketnick.
Allan was a veteran of the United States Navy.
He had worked at Peoria Charter Coach Co. in Peoria as a mechanic for 30 years before retiring in 2008.
Allan enjoyed traveling, woodworking and playing Mexican Dominos. He thoroughly cherished spending quality time with his family and helping others.
He was a member of The Journey Church in East Peoria, where he was very active.
Mr. and Mrs. Armentrout’s funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, September 13, 2021 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Brock Winkler will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at he funeral home. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Military rites will be provided by the United States Navy and Tazewell Military Rites Team.
