

PEKIN ~ Andrew Edward "Eddie" Ford, 16, of 1212 Rosemary Road, was pronounced dead at 7:50 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at the scene of an automobile accident in Elm Grove Township, rural Tazewell County.
He was born September 20, 1989 in Pekin to Steven Karl and Rhonda Kay Leadill Ford.
Surviving are his parents of Pekin; his grandparents, Donald E. Leadill of Tremont, and Marilyn J. Ford and Francis A. Ford, both of Pekin; four aunts; and one uncle.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Elsie F. (Glasgow) Leadill.
A sophomore at Pekin Community High School, he played basketball on the freshman team and was on the high honor roll at the end of his freshman year. This past summer, he was a counselor for the Dragon Basketball Camp. He volunteered with the PCHS Basketball program in assisting with the Special Olympics, food baskets, and delivering dragon Beanie babies to the pediatrics floor at Pekin Hospital.
A graduate of Rankin Grade School in rural Pekin, he was a member of the basketball team for four years and also the chess club. He was inducted into the National Junior Honor Society Rankin Chapter on January 13, 2004.
He enjoyed watching college basketball and football, playing video games and talking to friends on AOL.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, October 3, 2005at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Gary L. Ford will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, October 2, 2005at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
