
PEKIN ~ Ann Elizabeth Richmond, 91, of 1520 El Camino Drive, passed away at 3:50 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at her residence.Born April 25, 1919 in Barnett to Frederick L. and Loretta T. (Galvin) Schimmelpfennig, she married Carlen F. "Toddy" Richmond on June 25, 1938 in Peoria. He died December 8, 1974 in Pekin. She also was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Edward R. Schimmelpfennig and one sister, Tresa M. "Jackie" Buff.Surviving are three sisters, Mable V. (Louis) Look, Mary M. Andrews, both of Pekin and Betty L. (Dean) Allen of Marquette Heights and one brother, Robert F. (Darlene) Schimmelpfennig of Morton and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves a sister-in-law, Connie Schimmelpfennig of Morton.Ann worked for 43 years for the former A & P in Pekin as the head cashier and in later years as the supervisor and office secretary at the warehouse in East Peoria. Following her time at A & P, Ann worked as the office clerk for 12 years at Lange Animal Clinic in Pekin.She was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin and the Council of Catholic Women. Ann also served the church as a counter for many years.Ann always enjoyed animals and especially loved dogs. Her hobbies and interests included cooking and collecting cook books.Ann was a past member of the Altrusa Club of Pekin.Her funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2010at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Father Timothy Nolan will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral Mass at the church. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
