Arvin Kenneth Edwards

Born July 25, 1921 in Hodgenville, Kentucky to Richard and Mamie (Ashby) Edwards, he married Betty Edwards on June 5, 1948 in Pekin. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Ronald Edwards of Phoenix, Arizona; one sister, Viola (Virgil) Chambliss of Eureka; and several nieces and nephews in this area and in Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.

Ken was a sixty year member of Steam Fitters Local #353 in Peoria, working out of the union until retiring in 1983.

Active in many Masonic organizations, he was a member of Empire Lodge 126 Ancient Free & Accepted Masons in Pekin; Mohammed Temple, Shrine in Bartonville; and the Scottish Rites Bodies, Valley of Peoria.

He loved to fish, and was an avid golfer and Chicago Cubs fan.

His memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 26, 2008at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Terry C. Edele will officiate. There will be no visitation. Burial of ashes will follow in Glendale Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be provided by the Tazewell Military Rites Team.
