Barbara Jean Heitzman

Barbara Jean (Coats) Heitzman, 82, of 417 Wigwam Hollow Circle, Macomb, Illinois passed away at 9:20 a.m. on March 16, 2020 at the residence of her daughter Chris Lee at 180 East State Street, Smithfield, Illinois.

Barbara was born June 22, 1937 to John Robert and Lorene Margaret (Hammond) Coats. She married Donald F. Heitzman on July 17, 1955 in Glasford, Illinois. Surviving are her three daughters, Mrs. Glen (Carla) Scalf of Moberly, Missouri, Mrs. Ron (Donna) Kofoid of Delavan, IL, and Mrs. Robert (Chris) Lee of Smithfield, IL.

She has five grandchildren: Corey Scalf, Jeremy Koontz, Justin Koontz, Shannon Ethridge, and Kayla Jean Lee; nine great grandchildren; and three sisters, Mary Nicholson, Sharon Arnold, and Betty Hutton.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, Donald Coats and son-in-law, Robert Allen Lee.

She enjoyed music, sewing, baseball and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Cremation rites have been accorded.
