Bonita S Griffith

Born November 14, 1943 in Danville, Virginia to Willard G. and Dandridge (Abney) Shepherd, she married W. Neil Griffith on April 20, 1962 in Danville, Virginia. He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Gina G. (Brian) Berchtold of Pekin; two grandsons, Nicholas D. Berchtold and Tyler D. Berchtold, both of Pekin; two sisters, Sherry (Jerry) Pittman of Supply, North Carolina and Lynda (Emmett) Lowery of South Boston, Virginia and one brother, Willard (Pamela) Shepherd of Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Margie Shepherd.

Bonnie was an avid golfer, participating in both the Celestial City and Lick Creek Women's Golf Leagues for many years. She previously enjoyed bowling and was a former member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in Pekin. Bonnie was a homemaker.

Her memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Monday, September 3, 2007at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Gary L. Ford will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded.
