Born December 31, 1945 in Mayfield, Kentucky to Belvin Eugene and Elizabeth Laverne (Sample) Riley, she married Charles E. Lane on August 21, 1961 at Rolla, Missouri. He survives.
Also surviving are one son, Keith (Cristy) Lane of Green Valley; five grandchildren, Michael (Kelsi) Lane of Manito, Michaela (Jordan) Abegg of Manito, Lauren (Chris) Mach of Indianola, Iowa, Selena (Rick) Browning of Orange, California and Kelson Willett of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; eight great-grandchildren, James Lane, Elizabeth Abegg, Lucas Abegg, Logan Abegg, Phoenix Abegg, Ian Mach, Kennedy Mach and Cora Mach and three brothers, Larry (Elaine) Riley of Evansville, Indiana, Dale Pilant of Calvert City, Kentucky and Danny (Jenna) Pilant of Benton, Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Kathy Norman.
A homemaker, Brenda was devoted to her family, which was first and foremost to her.
She also enjoyed making crafts, painting and collecting angels and cookie jars.
Brenda had attended Community United Methodist Church in Manito.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Steve Oaks will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Meadow Lawn Cemetery in Manito.
