

He was born June 23, 1947 in Baltimore, Maryland to Samuel Franklin and Anna Beatrice (Overby) Freeman.
Surviving are two brothers, Clarence F. (Betty Lou) Freeman of Pasadena, Maryland and Donald W. (LeLani) Freeman of Hartsel, Colorado; one half-brother, Harry (Norma) Freeman of Fort Smith, Arkansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister (Betty Anderson), four half-sisters (Shirley Nycum, Juanita Rogers, Bernice Nutt and Georgia Bush), and five half-brothers (Robert Evans, Woodrow Evans, John "Jack" Freeman, William "Bill" Freeman, and Samuel Freeman).
A United States Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War, he attained the rank of Corporal.
Bruce worked for Keystone Steel and Wire Company in Bartonville for 28 years, retiring August 1, 2000 as a wire drawer. Previously, he worked for Laidlaw Wire Company in Bartonville.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1869 in Pekin.
Bruce enjoyed bowling, fishing, and hunting.
His graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2007at War Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Pekin. The Rev. Gary L. Ford will officiate. Military rites will be accorded by the United States Marine Corps and Glasford American Legion Post #35. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2007 at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel.
