Brunhilda McBride

MARQUETTE HEIGHTS ~ Brunhilda Conception "Bunny" McBride, 79, of 4659 Pinto Court, Ellicott City, Maryland, passed away at 7:47 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2006 at her home. She was formerly of 210 Kaskaskia Road in Marquette Heights.

Born November 6, 1926 in La Romana, Dominican Republic to Juan de Jesus and Maria Angelica Garcia Lopez, she marriedRussell Edward McBride on May 29, 1945 in New York City. He died November 4, 2003 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by one infant daughter (Marietta) and one infant son (James).

Surviving are two sons, Russell E. (Brenda) McBride, Jr. of Monroe, Georgia and Sgt. John B. (Janice) McBride of Fort Stewart, Georgia; one daughter, Jeanette (Gerald) Kissel of Ellicott City, Maryland; one brother, Steven Lopez of Las Vegas, Nevada; six grandchildren, Grant Kissel of Baltimore, Maryland, Julie Remo of Wheaton, Maryland, Jill Kissel of Rockville, Maryland, Sean McBride of Rincon, Georgia, and Shanna McBride and Samantha McBride, both of Monroe, Georgia; ten great-grandchildren, Yael Kissel, Ayala Kissel, and Ilana Kissel, all of Baltimore, Maryland, Maxwell Remo and Gavin Remo, both of Wheaton, Maryland, Alex McBride of Rincon, Georgia, Damien McBride, Kayelin McBride, Tyler Pierce, and Grant Beasley, all of Monroe, Georgia.

A homemaker, Bunny enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was a member of the Marquette Heights Lioness Club, Caterpillar Retirees Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4835 Ladies Auxiliary in Creve Coeur, and Paul Towne Memorial AMVETS Post #169 Ladies Auxiliary in North Pekin.

Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2006at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel, where visitation will be one hour before her funeral. The Rev. Terry C. Edele will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.
