

He was born July 13, 1985 in Peoria to Bradley Dean and Donna Rose (Bandeko) VonDerHeide.
Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Donna and Kurt Kaufman of Mackinaw; his father, Brad (Becky Conway) VonDerHeide of Pekin; one son, Remington Jeffery Alan VonDerHeide of Manito; his grandparents, JoAnn VonDerHeide of Pekin, Rose Watson and Don Bandeko, Sr., both of East Peoria; three brothers, Ben (Angela) VonDerHeide, Beau (Cassie Oliver) VonDerHeide and Jacob VonDerHeide, all of Pekin; two uncles, Mark (Carole Delahunt) VonDerHeide of Pekin and Vince (Marcia) VonDerHeide of Cleveland, TX; one aunt, Kathy (Danny) Proffitt of Morton; and six nieces and nephews, Jameson VonDerHeide, Jonathon VonDerHeide, Charlotte VonDerHeide, Adella VonDerHeide, Aiden DeWeese and Devon DeWeese. He also leaves his fiancé and the love of his life for the past 11 ½ years, Brandy Jo Lumpkin of Manito.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, James Edward VonDerHeide and John Watson; two uncles, Ricky VonDerHeide and Donnie Bandeko, Jr. and a nephew, Ezekyel VonDerHeide.
A 2004 graduate of Pekin Community High School, Caleb last worked for Topless Tree Service in Pekin. He also had worked construction building homes.
Caleb loved being outdoors, especially in the woods and mushroom hunting. He also enjoyed cutting firewood with his dad, target shooting and playing Frisbee golf. Spending time with his son was most important to him.
He was a former member of Calvary Baptist Church in Pekin.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. W. Lloyd Brock will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an education fund for his son, in care of South Side Bank, 3200 S Veterans Drive, Pekin, IL 61554.
