Chanel L Berardi

She was born August 28, 1992 in Pekin to Troy Gene and Julie Lynn (Shumate) Berardi.

Surviving are her mother, Julie Berardi of Pekin; one brother, Nicholas (Jina Milks) Berardi of Pekin; boyfriend, Adam Kirby of Pekin; grandparents, Bonnie Lynn (Tosi) and Bob Cates, and Gene Berardi, all of Pekin; and her aunts and uncles, Gina Berardi, Colette Cates, Anthony (Jamie) Cates, Lonnie Bacon, Randy Bacon, Robin Bacon, Tim Bacon, Shaun (Traci) Bacon, and Cary Shumate; and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Troy Berardi and grandmother, Jackie Shumate.

Chanel was a 2010 graduate of Pekin Community High School and attended Illinois Central College in East Peoria for one year.

Chanel worked at Jimbo’s Jumbo in Pekin, last working Thursday. Previously, she worked at Riviera Tan, Villas, and Grumpy Pete’s, all in Pekin.

She enjoyed going to concerts and music festivals, tanning, dancing, and shopping. Chanel loved fashion and loved to work. She was very caring and loved all of her friends. She also loved all of her pets which included one dog, three cats, and a turtle.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. John King will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin.
