

Born August 28, 1955 in Pekin to Nelson and Joyce (Larimore) Null, he married Debra Shay on May 22, 1976 at St. John’s (Sand Prairie) Lutheran Church in rural Green Valley. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Rhanda Goeken of Princeton, Iowa; two sons, Matthew Null of Galesburg and Matthew Vanderheiden of Manito; two grandchildren, Bryan (Hailey) Lennox of Clinton, Iowa and Charleigh (Brock) Meerdink of Davenport, Iowa; one great-granddaughter, Hadley and a great-grandchild expected in November; two sisters, Sheila (Jack) Kamp of Green Valley and Brenda (Mike) Guengerich of Pekin and one brother, Doug Null of Manito.
His parents preceded him in death.
He was a longtime painter at Barry’s Autobody in Pekin and also had painted tractors for Caterpillar, Inc.
An avid fisherman and deer hunter, he was proud to have won many awards. He also was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and had played for the Iowa Bandits in earlier years as a catcher, which is part of the Chicago Cubs farm system.
He was a member of St. John’s (Sand Prairie) Lutheran Church in rural Green Valley.
A celebration of life gathering will be announced at a later date. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
