He was born February 25, 1946 in Pekin to Gilbert Patterson and Viola (Duncan) Patterson. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers; two sisters and one infant daughter.
Surviving are one daughter, Joann Patterson of Davidson, Michigan; one son, Charles (Carla) Patterson II of Pekin; five grandchildren, Lindsey, Chase, Shelby, Jocelynn and Isaac; one great grandson, Atticus; two sisters, Doris “Jackie” Davis of Pekin and Frances Chapman of Gillespie.
Charles worked in Maintenance at Degussa Goldschmidt Chemical Co in Mapleton.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1869 and Pace Union.
His funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday April 29, 2022 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Steve Weber will officiate. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.
