Charles Stanley Morris

Born May 12, 1924 in Hendersonville, North Carolina to Nathan and Sara (Fred) Morris, he married Jean E. Dunnington on June 26, 1955 in Washington. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Sally F. Morris of Pekin; one sister, Patricia (Marty) Janner of Richmond, Virginia and his sister-in-law, Marjorie Holman of Pekin.

His parents preceded him in death.

He was a World War II Navy veteran.

A graduate of the University of Louisville with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, he was an engineer for Caterpillar, Inc. for 39 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers.

Stan was an active member of the Illinois Valley Yacht Club for many years. He also was a member of the National Wood Carvers Association.

He attended Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin.

His funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday,February 6, 2006at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Gary L. Ford will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before services. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in Washington, IL.
