

Born August 25, 1960 in Pekin to James “Butch” and Wanda (Merry) Stevens, he married Lorraine Wilson on March 18, 1995 in Kingston Mines. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother, Wanda Klein of West Peoria; one daughter, Sheila (Jacob) Polhans of Manito; one son, Dennis C. Spradley, Jr. of North Pekin; four grandchildren; two brothers, Tony Stevens of Creve Coeur and Jimmy (Chris) Stevens of Pekin; three sisters, Kathy (Bill) Jordan of West Peoria, Teresa (Victor) Leal of Bartonville and Terri of West Peoria and several nieces and nephews. Charles was looking forward to the upcoming birth of his fifth grandchild.
His father preceded him in death.
Charles was a proud union carpenter for 30 years, retiring in August of 2015 out of Local 237 in East Peoria.
He loved watching football and was a fan of the Miami Dolphins. He also loved reading biographies of rock stars and especially spending time with his grandkids.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Tony Darr will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Burial will be in Kingston Mines Cemetery.
