He was born on April 13, 1941, in Linton, Indiana, a son of Chester A. and Wilma (Hamilton) Woodward. Gene married Charlene “Sherry” ShiDal on June 24, 1962, in Sunnyland, Illinois. She survives.
Also surviving are his son, Kenneth Woodward of Pekin; one daughter, Tammy Little of Arizona; four grandchildren, Jacy, Taylor, Bailey, David; and four great-grandchildren, Patricia, Kane, Addy and Booker.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Connie Isbell.
Gene and Charlene owned and operated three locations of River City Auto for over 15 years. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs. Gene enjoyed golfing, horses, model cars, working and making money and playing cards.
Cremation Rites have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory of Pekin. There are no services scheduled.
