Christa K Carpenter

She was born August 3, 1941 in Berlin, Germany to Harry and Helene Heider. Her parents preceded her in death.

Surviving are one son, Thor (Rhonda) Carpenter of Manito; three grandchildren, Thor (Lori) Carpenter, Jr. of Peoria, Josh Carpenter and Nicole Carpenter, both of Sycamore; four step-grandchildren, Stacy (Shawn) Ray of South Pekin, David Williams and Richard Williams, both of Pekin, and George Williams serving with the U.S. Army in Iraq; one great-grandson, Thor Carpenter, III; three step-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Heidi Haase of Berlin, Germany.

Christa worked at the Pekin Country Club as a waitress since July 1, 1993. Shelast worked September 16, 2008. Previously, she worked as the manager of The Flame in North Pekin and also at the Pekin Holiday Inn as a waitress and later as the evening manager.

Christa enjoyed flower gardening, being outdoors, and having coffee time with her friends. She never knew a stranger and everyone became her "Darling."

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 21, 2008at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral.
