Clarence Kreiter, Sr.

Born January 10, 1921 in Peoria County to Karl and Rose (Miller) Kreiter, he married Daisy Gehrig on December 26, 1945 in Peoria. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Clarence, Jr. (Jo) Kreiter of Pekin and Ronald (Mary Kay) Kreiter of Tullahoma, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Brian (Melissa) Kreiter, Jennifer (Brad) Sullivan, Jeffrey (Liz) Kreiter, and Janelle (James) Rotach; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Helen Carlson of Peoria and Francis Gunnell of Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and five sisters.

Clarence was a life-long farmer in Glasford for 60 years, retiring in 1985.

He was a member of the Glasford Baptist Church.

Clarence enjoyed fishing and gardening.

A celebration of life service will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, where visitation will be one hour before the service. John Yordy will officiate. Private burial will be in Streitmatter Cemetery in rural Princeville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
