Born August 29, 1950 in Peoria to Russell J. and Bonnie Jean (Hill) Espinoza, he married Marcia M. “Marcy” McLachlan on June 15, 1973 in Ottawa. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Danielle (John) Blosser of Morton; one grandson, Jack Blosser of Morton; two brothers, David (Gloria) Espinoza of Bloomington and Dennis (Rosemary) Espinoza of Forsyth and one sister, Dianna (Joe) Casperowitz of Glendale, Arizona. He also leaves two brothers-in-law, John (Linda) McLachlan of Ottawa and Robert McLachlan of Rancho Mirage, California; four sisters-in-law, Kathleen (Marty) Corso of Hampshire, Deborah (Dave) Duffy, Camille (Robert) Dunn, both of Ottawa and Lisa Eiten of Ottawa and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Donald Espinoza; his father and mother-in-law, Emmett and Camille McLachlan and a brother-in-law, Dean Eiten.
He had served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Danny was a small business owner since the 1980s, operating MacDuff’s, Danny’s 1, McCritter’s, all in Pekin, MacDucks in Banner and the Duck Blind in Kingston Mines. He formerly worked as an electrical lineman for CILCO for 20 years and as the assistant business agent for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 51 for 10 years.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. A member of Knights of Columbus Archbishop Schlarman Council 3507 in Pekin, he also was a fourth degree member of Assembly 210. He was a member of Pekin Moose Family Center 916, Pekin Elks Lodge 1271 and Roy L. King Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1232 in Pekin.
Danny loved attending and supporting all of his grandson, Jack’s, activities. He also enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and going on motorcycle trips with friends.
His private memorial Mass will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Father Michael Andrejek will celebrate the Mass. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will be in Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin, with military rites accorded by the United States Army and the Tazewell Military Rites Team.
