

Born November 19, 1943 in Joliet, he was the son of Wendell and Vernice (Freeman) Griese. They preceded him in death along with one brother (Terry Bardwell), and one nephew.
Surviving are two sisters, Corky (Dan, Sr.) Hansen of Pekin and Allison (Larry) Wolverton of Tremont; one brother, Scott Bardwell of Kansas City, Missouri, sister-in-law, Eva Bardwell of Houston, Texas; four nephews; two nieces; and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
David had worked in the Student Union at Bradley University and as a custodian for Smith Printers, both in Peoria for many years.
He was a member of the Salvation Army in Peoria, where he volunteered and also was a longtime bell ringer at Lindy's in Washington. He also volunteered for the Pekin Township.
David enjoyed going to his family's activities. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
His funeral will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday, January 4, 2010at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Visitation will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army in Peoria or the Boy's and Girl's Club of Pekin.
