

Born February 18, 1942 in Peoria to Clarence and Leona (Dickison) Keehner, he married Barbara Sue Phillips on August 15, 1970 in Creve Coeur. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Bethany (Stan) Haptas of California; one sister, Arlene (Ronald) Nickel of Hillsdale, WY and one nephew, Matthew (Sharon) Nickel in CO.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant sisters.
Dennis was in the United States Air Force.
He worked over fifteen years for Ruan Transport in North Pekin. He later worked as an independent truck driver.
Dennis was a member of the Teamsters and Chauffeurs Union, Local 627 and the George Washington Lodge 222 of Chillicothe, IL.
A man who could fix anything, Dennis loved working on cars, trucks, tractors or anything with a motor. He also enjoyed exploring, traveling, fishing and hunting.
His funeral service will be Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. Pastor Steve Weber will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Fon du Lac Cemetery in East Peoria. Military honors will be provided by the Military Funeral Honors Team of Illinois and Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.
