Donald B Underwood

  PEKIN ~ Donald Dean Underwood, 50, of 346  Chestnut St. Apt. F, passed away at 7:50 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2011 at his residence.

Born October 27, 1960 in Peoria to Lewis D. and Barbara (Maddox) Underwood, he married Lynn Davis on June 10, 1983 in Pekin.  She died December 30, 2003 in Pekin.  He later married Teresa Rorrer on January 16, 2008 in Pekin.  She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Sharon Davis and Zella Lynn Davis, both of Wichita, Kansas; one step-son, Johnathan Rorrer of Pekin; one grandson, Anthony-James Louis-Davis Underwood of Wichita, Kansas; one sister, Tonya (J.R.) Davis of Peoria and 3 nephews, Eric, Josh and Nick.

Donald worked for the Pekin Housing Authority until 2007.  He enjoyed preparing homes for the families moving out of the shelter.  Previously, Donald had worked on the Forman Ambulance in Manito.

Though his favorite holiday was Halloween, he embodied the spirit of Christmas, giving to those in need.

Don will most be remembered as a man who enjoyed a challenge as well as a laugh.

His family will host a celebration of life gathering at 7 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2011 at Pottsie's Bar, 303 Margaret St. in Pekin.  Cremation arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association, Midwest Affiliate Memorial & Tributes Lockbox, 3816 Paysphere Cir., Chicago, IL 60674.
