

Born March 9, 1941 in Hooversville, Pennsylvania to Curtis and Ruth Mae (Meyers) Hite, she married Donald Harry Barth on December 7, 1957 in Mecca, Ohio. He survives.
Also surviving are four children, Cindy (Lorenzo) Boccuzzi of Wolf Creek, Montana, Gary (Stephanie) Barth of Lakeview, Arkansas, Randy Barth of Brimfield, and Chuck (Joni) Barth of Pekin; fourteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will forever remember her faith and kindness.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, David Barth; two brothers, Charles Hite and Edward Hite and one sister, Verna Mae Hite.
She initially ran a restaurant, Steve’s Café, in Chenoa with her husband and did most of the cooking. She later moved to Pekin and worked as the bookkeeper for family at Pekin Gun and Sporting Goods.
She encapsulated all the beautiful attributes that a good mother and grandmother would have. She canned, she sewed, she baked, and she treasured all of her family. She was known for her high-pitched whistle at sporting events and to call you in to the house for one of her home cooked meals.
She was a member of St. John’s (Sand Prairie) Lutheran Church in rural Green Valley. She faithfully prayed for all those that she loved and her designated pew at the church was where she brought her family together.
Private services will be held at St. John’s (Sand Prairie) Lutheran Church in rural Green Valley. Pastor Chris Sansom and DCE William Krueger will officiate. Inurnment will be in Sand Prairie Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
