

Born February 4, 1941in Peoria to Richard and Dora (Harness) Severns, she married Donald Eugene Phillips on July 28, 1962 in Peoria. He died November 25, 2007.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Todd Phillips; three brothers, Richard, Harold and Gary Severns and one sister, Mary Cogdill.
Surviving are one son, Troy (Leonna Deemie) Phillips of Pekin, three grandchildren, Toby (Annie) Phillips of Metamora, Mills Johnson and Madalyn Phillips, both of Washington; four great-grandchildren and one brother, Daniel Severns of East Peoria.
Doris worked at Sears in shipping and receiving for 20 years.
She loved traveling and made many trips with her husband to Texas and surrounding areas. Doris also loved people and made friends easily and had many friends that would join them for winter trips down south. She enjoyed camping, fishing and going to country music jams.
Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. A gathering celebrating Doris’ life will be held at a later date.
