Born June 11, 1936 in Herman, MO to Ottis Perry and Luella (Hugg) Mitchell, he married Tonna Adkins on October 31, 1981 in Sparland. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Martin (Marina) Mitchell of Lacon and Kris Mitchell of Washburn; one daughter, Angela Kiefer of Thornton, CO; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and two brothers, Tyrone Mitchell of Missouri and Rodney Mitchell of Texas.
Preceding him death are his parents and one son, Douglas Anthony “Tony” Mitchell, Jr. and one son-in-law, Cameron Kiefer.
He was a Lithographer working for Fleming-Potter Co. in Peoria for 27 years, retiring in 1991.
Douglas loved motorcycles and taking care of his yard.
There will be no sevices or visitation. Cremation will be accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.
