

Born June 22, 1928 in Shrewsbury, PA to Jacob A. and Fanny A. (Diffendarfer) Bollinger, he married Mary Whipperman on December 24, 1951 in Baltimore, MD. She died April 24, 2014 in Peoria. He was also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and one sister.
Surviving are two daughters, Darlene (Dennis) Murphy of Kewanee and Dorothy (Thomas) Baker of Pekin; three sons, Larry (Sue Pollard) Bollinger of Mackinaw, Melvin Bollinger and Robert (Belinda) Bollinger, both of Pekin; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and one brother, Austin (Margaret) Bollinger of Glen Rock, PA.
Earl had served in the United States Army.
He had worked for American Distillery, then went to work for Caterpillar, Inc. He then retired in 1990 from Pines Trailers in Kewanee where he had repaired and assembled semi-trailers.
Earl had been a member of the Paul Towne Memorial Amvets Post #169 in North Pekin.
Earl enjoyed hunting and fishing.
His military graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin. There will be no visitation. The United States Army and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team will perform military honors.
