

Born August 15, 1925 in Pekin to Richard James and Mabel (Saxton) Gordon, she married Willis Ziegenbein on January 7, 1943 in Pekin. He died April 27, 1975 in Pekin. She later married Charles Miller on July 13, 1979 in Pekin. He died October 19, 2007 in Pekin. She also was preceded in death by her children, James, Jerry, Marcia Mickle and Scott; four brothers and one sister.
Surviving are five grandchildren, Constance (Chuck) Lower of Pekin, Jerry (Alee) Ziegenbein of Wisconsin, Mark (Lisa) Ziegenbein of Manito, Patrick Ziegenbein of Pekin and Holly (Raymond) Farmer of Oklahoma; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and two daughters-in-law, Linda Ziegenbein and Joyce (John Cunningham) Ziegenbein, both of Pekin. She also leaves behind her nephew, Steve (Pat) Gardner of Pekin and her best friend, Irene Watkins of Pekin.
Edith had worked as a nurse's aide at Pekin Hospital for 18 years.
She enjoyed traveling, playing bingo, reading and playing cards, especially pinochle and euchre. She was an avid Chicago Cubs baseball fan. She cherished time spent with all of her grandchildren.
Her visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Burial will immediately follow at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Pastor Paul Isom will officiate.
