Eleanor M Andrews

Born May 1, 1927 in Peoria to Herman and Leora (Glens) Thurman, she married Thomas “Jack” Andrews on September 1, 1950 in Peoria. He died December 5, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Thomas Thurman.

Surviving are one daughter, Sandra Jackson of Creve Coeur; one son, Allan Andrews of Creve Coeur; one grandson, David (Katherine) Jackson of North Pekin; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Carolyn (Gary) Bown of Cincinnati, Ohio and Evelyn (Melvin) Jones of Peoria.

She was a member of Bethel Memorial United Church of Christ in Creve Coeur, where she had been the financial secretary since 1988. She was a life-member of East Peoria Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2078 Ladies Auxiliary.

Eleanor enjoyed reading, crocheting, and playing the piano for her Sunday school class.

Her memorial service will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday, February 8, 2013 at Bethel Memorial United Church of Christ in Creve Coeur. The Rev. Paul Isom will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur and also from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial of cremated remains will be at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
