PEKIN ~ Eleanor E. Sanders, 95, of 1201 Howard Ct., passed away at 8:35 a.m., Thursday, April 14, 2011 at her home.
Born March 2, 1916 in Deer Creek to Henry and Mary (Mann) Wiedman, she married Kenneth Sanders on October 11, 1941 in Pekin.
She was preceded in death by her husband on October 19, 1956; 2 brothers; and 2 sisters.
Surviving are her caregivers, William and Ramona Howard of Pekin; and her special grandchildren, Felecia Tone, Tory Stone, Jimmy Cross, Christina Gibson, Coleman Caruso, and Travis Caruso, all of Pekin.
Eleanor worked as the bookkeeper for Vogel's Supermarket in Pekin from 1960-76.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pekin.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Rev. Dowice Ashley will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday at the funeral Homes. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
Memorial contributions may be made to Community Baptist Church or Good Shepherd Lutheran School.
